What Is a THM Aldi Meal Plan?
THM stands for the Trim Healthy Mama diet.
It’s an amazing, easy diet plan that is adaptable for every season of life.
I discovered THM when I was pregnant with my first little princess, and I’m so glad I did! I gained just the right amount of weight with my pregnancy, then lost all of the baby weight in just 4 months while nursing!
The balanced approach of THM plus the ability to make it non-weight-loss-y for my active husband and growing kiddos really appeals to me.
THM doesn’t cut out any food groups; you just eat them in easy combinations to help your body lose weight.
You can check out all the details for starting THM and my weight loss success story here.

Aldi Meal Plan
To stick with THM guidelines:
- Meals and snacks should have a protein source
- Meals/snacks are either low fat + healthy carbs (THM E) OR healthy fats + low carbs (THM S)
- To lose weight, have at least 3 hours in between S and E meals
- Eat every 2-3 hours to rev your metabolism
- Daily meals are listed first, then snacks lists provided afterwards
Sunday:
Breakfast– Scrambled Eggs with sauted veggies and cheese; bacon (THM S)

Want to make THM easier? This Slim & Speedy Menu has 3 days of 5-Ingredient Meals to help you fuel your body fast with slimming foods. (THM-friendly!)
Lunch– Easy Black Bean Soup; toasted sprouted bread topped with Pepper Jack Happy Farms Spreadable Cheese Wedges; cucumber slices (THM E)
Dinner– Bacon-Wrapped Chicken (use chicken thighs for best results and double recipe for tomorrow’s lunch; skip the freezer steps), Company Cauliflower (use refined coconut oil or butter if you have it), Green Beans (we love the Green Fries from the THM Cookbook) (THM S)
Note on Chicken Recipe– This link didn’t work on 2/3/20; if you can’t get the recipe to pull up, here’s my version of it (this is seriously my favorite chicken recipe and I’m crushed that this site is gone!!):
- Defrost skinless, boneless chicken thighs.
- Drizzle lightly with olive oil and top with a dash of sea salt, garlic powder, and rosemary.
- Wrap each thigh with uncooked bacon and place in greased pan (it probably doesn’t need to be greased, but I always do just to make sure it doesn’t stick).
- Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
- Can place under broiler for 2-3 minutes if desired to crisp up bacon (but watch it closely).
Monday:
Breakfast– Pumpkin Baked Oatmeal, Vanilla Greek Yogurt (buy plain, fat free Greek yogurt, add a dash of vanilla extract and stevia to sweeten) (THM E)
Lunch– Salad topped with leftover, diced Bacon-Wrapped Chicken, Caesar dressing, shredded Parmesan, and crumbled Savoritz Parmesan Crisps (they make delicious little low carb, high protein croutons) (THM S)
Dinner– Sweet and Spicy Stirfry (E version)- double the rice for Wednesday’s dinner (THM E)
Tuesday:
Breakfast– Keto Chaffle Breakfast Sandwich (or pick your favorite Chaffle recipe from these 10 recipes— the Oreo one is ah-mazing!) (THM S)
Lunch– Low Fat BLT– use sprouted bread, turkey bacon, and Happy Farm Spreadable Cheese (instead of mayo); carrots and cucumbers; fat free plain Greek yogurt with stevia, vanilla extract, and berries’ 1-2 cups Aldi Organic Popcorn if desired (THM E)
Dinner– Taco Salad (double the taco meat for lunch tomorrow), can top with Savoritz Jalapeno Parmesan Crisps or pork rinds if desired for a yummy, spicy crunch (THM S)
Wednesday:
Breakfast– Overnight Stuffed French Toast topped with fat free plain Greek yogurt (with vanilla extract and stevia) and berries (THM E)
Lunch– Low carb tacos– use leftover taco meat rolled in Romaine lettuce leaves; pepper slices and Savoritz Jalapeno Parmesan Crisps with guacamole (THM S)
Dinner– Chicken Fried Double Rice (THM E)
Thursday:
Breakfast– Scrambled eggs in bacon bowls (we love these cutie little molds that make bacon into bowls), 1 slice sprouted toast with butter (THM S Helper with the toast)
Lunch– Sandwich with sprouted bread, lean deli meat, 1 slice turkey bacon, and Happy Farm Spreadable Cheese (instead of mayo); carrots and cucumbers; fat free plain Greek yogurt with stevia, vanilla extract, and berries’ 1-2 cups Aldi Organic Popcorn if desired (THM E)
Dinner– Spaghetti Squash and Meat Sauce Mini Recipe: (THM S)
- Brown grassfed ground beef
- Add no-sugar added tomato sauce (can add garlic, Italian seasoning, and/or pinch of stevia if needed)
- Bake spaghetti squash (directions here if needed)
- Scoop out roasted spaghetti squash into meat sauce. Mix well.
- Add spaghetti squash/meat sauce mixture back into spaghetti squash shells (you might have a little more mixture than you have space in the shells; save for a snack later if desired)
- Top with grated Parmesan cheese and broil for 2-4 minutes until cheese bubbles and darkens
Friday:
Breakfast– Healthy Pancakes (make a double batch so that you have leftovers for tomorrow) topped with fat free plain Greek yogurt (with vanilla extract and stevia) and berries (THM E)
Lunch– Nitrate-Free hot dogs with cheese (pan fry hot dogs and add a slice of sharp cheddar cheese to each hot dog, let cheese melt around hot dog, then transfer to plate; as the cheese cools, it crisps up and tastes like a homemade Cheez-it); side salad (THM S)
Dinner– The Best Low Carb Cauliflower Pizza (or try this yummy Low Carb Pizza Casserole if you’re short on time) and side salad (THM S)
Saturday:
Breakfast– Healthy McGriddles (THM E)
Lunch– Deli meat, cheese, lettuce, and ranch dressing rolled up in lettuce leaves; cheese whisps; cucumbers, peppers, and a few carrots with ranch dressing or guacamole; sugar free PB fudge (THM S)
Side Note: I really love the Aldi Coconut Cashew Crisps. Technically, they’re not on plan because they have Cassava flour. They’re also not considered weight loss friendly because they use coconut sugar as the main sweetener. I enjoy 2-3 crisps on occasion because they’re delicious and it’s nice to have a healthy treat that I didn’t have to make from scratch. They have not stalled my weight loss yet.
Dinner– Turkey, Black Bean, Sweet Potato Chili (THM E)

Can I substitute Dairy kefir for the Greek yogurt? Trying to get back on plan! Thank you!!
Hi, Marie! You sure can! I love kefir! Just keep in mind that double fermented kefir is considered a FP (because the second fermentation reduces the carbs) and regular store bought kefir (as is) is considered an E. 🙂
Have you compiled this into a grocery list? These meal options look like a great variety.
Hi, Micah! I haven’t quite gotten around to a grocery list for this one yet, but I’ll add it to my To Do list! 🙂 I love variety in my weekly menu, and I actually used this menu again this week so I should be able to put together the grocery list pretty quick. 🙂
I’m glad I stumbled across this! I’ve been trying to start THM and had no idea where to begin a meal plan. THIS is awesome and helpful!
Yay! So glad that this can help, Heather! I love Aldi and THM. Feel free to trade out any recipes for your own favorites, too, and I’ve got several other THM meal plans/menus (a frugal one, a Walmart one, a Fuel Cycle for stubborn weight loss, a Drive Thru Sue/very little cooking or dishes one) on this site if that helps. 🙂
Wow! My mouth is watering after reading this! Thanks, Diane!
You’re so welcome, Lorraine! Hope that you enjoy this menu as much as my family does! 🙂
