THM E meals can be a struggle for Trim Healthy Mamas. Struggle no more, my THM friend! I put out an SOS to some of my favorite THM bloggers, and they have shared their most popular THM E recipes here.

These recipes are delicious, filling, and have been loved by TONS of fellow Trim Healthy Mamas. Get your E’s on, friend!

It’s recommended that you have at least 5 THM E meals a week with the THM plan. And with this amazing list of E meals, they’re gonna be your favorite meals of the week!

Why Your Body Needs Some E’s

As an integrative medicine physician assistant, I gotta take a minute to give a shout out to E meals.

E’s are vital to your adrenal health and HPA axis. If you have a history of adrenal fatigue (more accurately called HPA Axis Dysregulation), E’s are vital for restoring your health and stopping reactive hypoglycemia, or dips in your blood sugar from raging stress hormones.

Unchecked HPA axis dysregulation increases cortisol levels, which can lead to many things, including belly fat, fatigue, and trouble sleeping.

Cutting out carbs, like on the Keto Diet, also causes your body to increase reverse T3, a thyroid hormone that tells your body and metabolism to slow down. An unhappy thyroid makes it incredibly difficult to lose weight, among many other things.

What Are THM E Meals?

The Trim Healthy Mama Plan books explain it best. “E” stands for energizing, and it’s a meal where you get to enjoy some healthy carbohydrates.

I love the simple, no special ingredient recipes in the original THM book. The plan is clearly laid out in the Trim Healthy Mama Plan Book. There’s also an easy, quick start version in the first three chapters of the Trim Healthy Table cookbook.

You’ll need to read the book for all the details, but we start an E meal with a source of lean protein.

You add to it healthy carbohydrates that shouldn’t spike up blood sugar levels. You can have up to 45 grams of complex carbs and 5 grams of added fat or less.

And they’re delicious, especially when you pick one of these favorite recipes!

Most of these recipes are very budget-friendly, and most have no special ingredients. If you’re looking to save on special ingredients, I often use Amazon gift cards earned free from Swagbucks to purchase a few of the specialty items.

THM E Breakfasts

Do you miss cereal for breakfast while on THM? Not anymore! Copycat Cocoa Krispies from Joy Filled Eats is so easy to make and the perfect on plan sub for cereal. When you get down to the bottom of the bowl, you’ll love how this made-over cereal turns the milk into chocolate milk!

This Mocha Oatmeal from Country Girl Cookin is an amazing combination of coffee house treat meets blood-sugar stabilizing, cholesterol-busting oatmeal.

Healthy Oatmeal Cookie Granola is super popular over at Joy Filled Eats, and I was drooling reading the recipe! It takes your favorite oatmeal cookie flavors and turns them into delicious granola.

Love those chocolate-y, peanut butter-y, no bake cookies? Get all that goodness in a slimming, energizing way with No Bake Cookie Breakfast Oatmeal from professional chef TJ over at TJ’s Taste.
